James Williams
James J. Williams  was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Williams comes from a long line of artists including, Ada Gregg Williams, painting in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. She was a student and contemporary of many turn-of-the-century artists such as Edward Potthast and Frank Duveneck. His Great Grandfather was noted sculptor Bernard Berling. Williams was encouraged in his own artistic career by his supportive parents at an early age receiving his first oil painting set at age 10.

Williams received his formal training under renowned artist teachers such as Daniel Greene and Nelson Shanks to name a few. An accomplished professional painter since 1975 Williams’ work encompasses landscape, still life, and portraiture. Williams’ work can be found in private and corporate collections throughout the United States.

“When creating a new work of art, it is always a labor of love and a balancing act to manage the complex interplay of light and shadow, color, and composition. Listening to classical music while I paint in my studio is greatly uplifting and contributes to my creative focus and imagery. My hope is to create paintings that are a visual symphony of color, beautifully tranquil in mood, and a constant source joy and inspiration to my collectors.”
