TOMMY HUNT

GALLERY
Inspired by an extraordinary personal experience, where Tommy Hunt claims to have seen other worldly beings, and coupled with the beautiful displays at the Piedmont Botanical Gardens, his fairy paintings are not fantasy so much as indications of a deeper reality - one we simply don't ordinarily see. "It was really like waking up from a long long dream and seeing the world as it actually exists - our conventional reality momentarily cracked open. Are Fairies and Angels real? I've seen them."

Tommy Hunt was born in 1947 and grew up in rural Pennsylvania in the township of East Whiteland.  After attending George Brown College and the Three Schools of Art in Toronto, he exhibited for a few years before moving into illustration. Hunt went on to win numerous awards in illustration including the Bomac magazine cover of the year award in 1984. His illustrations were chosen for the American Illustrator and Print Magazine illustration annuals. In the past few years since arriving in Atlanta, Hunt has been devoting his time to painting. He's competed in juried shows at the Atlanta Arts Center, winning two first place awards, and one third place award. At the 2009 CPSA International juried Show, hosted by the Hudgens Center, Hunt was awarded a third place win. Hunt's work can be found in collections throughout the United States and in countries such as Norway, Canada, England and Argentina.
